God's Perfect Timing

Over the weekend, I had planned and was actually invited to our Church's "Mighty Women Of God' Luncheon. Now, even though I really wanted to go (and I did) I was struggling a bit because women's luncheon type thingy's just aren't my deal...they are so..."girlie" And yes, I know I am a girl! All of you who know me are fully aware that I am much more comfortable playin in the dirt than sitting at a luncheon. Even so, I felt The Lord calling me to this and my heart actually did really want to be there. So, Gary and I went shopping for a dress (cus I was thinkin, Women's luncheon=dress, right?)  Well...that little expedition lasted about 23 minutes...and I ended up over at Lowe's buying veggies! HA! :)   I wore white pants, a cute little orange top and those super cute striped heels that my sister and I love soooo much...and I was me and comfortable (which is what I love about Breaking Free sooooooo much...I can be ME! )
Anyway...I left the mountain a bit early so I could stop on the way and grab up a Starbucks (coconut is out for summer) and as I pulled into Temperance Starbucks ( my regular) there were like 6 cars in line?!?  I took a moment debating whether or not I could have time...I decided that this particular Starbucks moves pretty fast and I would have more than ample time! Well...........NOT!  I am now blocked in by a Mustang in the back and the path is too narrow on the sides for an F250 to turn around...and my watch was ticking faster than it had ever ticked before...I start to panic and ask The Lord to please slow time because I REALLY don't like being late ( I feel it shows disrespect). In our conversation ( God and I)  I asked him why is this happening, the line so slow, this is crazy and yet there is this strange peace that it is ok and I will get to MWOG at exactly the perfect time! So...I relaxed, cranked up KDUV and waited on my coffee, which ended up being fantastic! Gotta love coconut! :) Oh...Starbucks was training! :)
I pull into BFRC parking lot at exactly 9:30am (the time which Karen told me to be there) and I hop out of the truck preparing to race inside...when a lady calls out to me (who also had just arrived). "Excuse me", she says, "I am assuming by the large white goat on the back of your truck window that you may have a  connection to goats?"  Well...we all know what I answered! :)  Loooooong story short...this woman has had an interest in learning about goats, home dairying, sustainable living and other fun type stuff and she has been waiting on The Lord to show her the connection she was to make....waiting for quite awhile I understand. I feel honored to be that connection that God placed on her heart. She is a strong woman of God and those are the new friends I need and want! So...I believe that God slowed me down at Starbucks to plan a divine meeting in the parking lot of BFRC! Gotta love that! :)

  1. I am that Lady, and as I sit here I am crying and laughing because God knows the desires of our hearts. My desire for 1 year and a half was to find you! To learn what I need to know about a different way of living.. a lifestyle God is calling my husband, my family and I into. I look forward to knowing you better and sharing friendship, and laughter along side of learning a new way! Oh I should add..... you got held up because I had to change the polish on my toes... Gods perfect timing! Blessings! (i look forward to our adventures) ;-)

  2. Isn't it amazing - the way He guides our steps when he places something on our hearts?!?! There are so many things that had to happen at just the right time over the last five years to bring me to the friends with whom I share such simple interests and grace-filled faith!!! My timing may be out of whack every now and then, but God sure knows what He is doing! He was blessing your steps - and, apparently, your coffee! hahaha!
