Our Journey-March 4, 2012

With permission from The Lord we have begun the remodel to the Farm. We have quite a bit of work in front of us, but we LOVE it! We started yesterday with the goat pens. Because we want people to be able to be as close to them as we can without being nibbled on, we designed a pass-way that will literally allow people to pass right through the middle of both pens. It also will make milking for us much easier as the prego's/new mom's/eventual milkers will stay in one pen separated and in direct line with the milking barn (or so goes the drawing!)

We have also decided to keep our old barns/garages instead of purchasing or shall I say loaning new ones! When we moved here, I thought...for what crazy reason would you need 5 garages/barns?!? Now I know! I am so thankful for a God who knows so much more than me!
I do have to say that I have the most amazing husband ever...Gary has volunteered to give up the main big barn (which he uses for his garage) to the business...it will become the milk parlor/demo room. This barn will be the main place where home dairy demos and classes will be held, not to mention where we will milk everyday. He is moving to the unfinished front garages where he will basically have to rebuild and close in another area. I love him! This was a hard choice for him and us...we tried to make the small barn work, but there just isn't enough room.
He is an Amazing Selfless Man of God!

Why are we doing all this? Because God has told us he has plans for here and us! We will be having a Open Farm Day (kinda like an open house) on April 21st, 2012. People will be welcome to come visit, shop, and hang out. The remodel will probably not be done, but oh well! ;) Things will probably be under tents and canopy's, but oh well! All of our family will be here (prayerfully Kyle will get the day off) and even Kadalynn (Kady) will be here. There will be demos and corn hole and fellowship and shopping and just everything....It will be a blast! We also will be visited by an FFA group from the LA area...exciting! This is a day we believe God has ordained and put into being, but to be honest I have struggled alot in confirming it. I tried my hardest to find every reason in the world why we shouldn't do this. We are by no means ready facility wise, especially with everything being torn down to the ground. I like everything in neat little perfect packages with a tidy bow on top! God is teaching me his way of moving forward even when there is no bow and it's not tidy! Right now I/we are completely walking blindly in the spirit. My human eyes only see what isn't ready/ my sprituall eyes see all that can be and will...in God's perfect timing. You see...the perfect little bow that makes me so comfortable...is God's Perfection. :) This I am still learning, but I embrace the challenge!

The Open Farm Day is scheduled for April 21st, 2012 10am-2pm. We so hope you will drop in!
